Best Buy will begin offering AppleCare+ on September 13
Some unnamed sources suggest that Best Buy might start selling these plans in stores at checkout around September 14th.
This partnership between Apple and Best Buy is said to be announced once the new iPhones are out. Best Buy will continue to offer revamped Geek Squad warranty plans for non-Apple products, including Geek Squad Protect & Support, Protect & Support Plus, 24/7 Support and Product Replacement.
Of course, Best Buy is also expected to sell an AppleCare plan for the next-generation “iPhone 6s”, which will launch some time in September. Earlier this month, Best Buy became the first major retailer to begin selling the Apple Watch, which was previously sold only in Apple’s stores and a select few upscale fashion boutiques.
AppleCare and AppleCare+ plans purchased through Best Buy will reportedly combine the retailer’s standard warranty, so those who need service for an Apple product can either take it directly to Apple, or their local Best Buy store instead.
The availability of AppleCare and AppleCare+ will also be a bonus for Best Buy, as it will help its outlets make use of the upcoming rush to boost its own sales following the release of the upcoming iPhone 6s; this will strategically help the retail chain increase its own platform’s sales. Before that, Apple has extended the purchase window for AppleCare+ to 60 days. Just earlier this month, Apple announced that AppleCare+ for the iPhone and iPad has been expanded to Spain, Brazil and Turkey. With the plans, the company allows users to acquire Apple’s assistance in case of any accidental hardware damage or internal errors and software glitches.
