Emile Hirsch Heading to Prison For Assault
Hollywood star Emile Hirsch was sentenced to two weeks in jail after pleading guilty to assaulting a Paramount movie executive at the Sundance Film Festival, US media reported Monday.
According to reports, he avoided a maximum penalty of five years in jail by entering a guilty plea with prosecutors.
In addition to serving 15 days in jail, Emile was ordered to pay a $4,750 fine, complete 50 hours of community service and must continue attending AA meetings. Once his sentence has been completed the charge against him will be dismissed. And, perhaps one day, the world will get to see his take on John Belushi.
Hilder, a former state judge, said he thinks the jail time will affect Hirsch. “I think he will learn from that”.
Hirsch had initially faced a felony count of aggravated assault related to the January 25 attack on Daniele, which took place at the in Park City, , during.
“Emile consumed an enormous amount of alcohol on the evening in question and he has no memory of what happened”, Emile’s spokesperson Robert Offer said. In the film, Hirsch plays a straight-edge punk – a subculture that scorns drug and alcohol use.
Hirsch was at Sundance for the premiere of the drama “Ten Thousand Saints”.
Hirsch is also known for roles in Milk, in which he starred alongside Penn and Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock.
Hirsch, who has a young son, said he’s grown up after going to rehab, learning the importance of “not just saying I’m sorry, but letting my actions line up with my words”.
