Nigeria invites 18 players for AFCON qualifier
Ikeme was born in England but is eligible to play for the Super Eagles through his father.
These 18 individuals will be complimented by a number of local-based players who were announced a few weeks ago, combining to create a strong Super Eagles outfit with the aim of qualifying to take on Africa’s best in Gabon at the beginning of 2017.
“The locally-based players are already in Abuja, now the preparations can truly begin for Mr Oliseh and his players”.
So that’s all rather interesting as far as the Chelsea futures of the two men may be, depending on how much they value their worldwide careers.
“So, how do we now want them to learn and catch up with the ones that are in front of them”. “I know the pedigree of Nigerian new coach”.
“I know the full-back positions have always been an issue which I intend to address quickly”, Oliseh said.
“Those who are commenting or laying emphasis on the fact that we rely mainly on foreign players to play should start asking questions because we are back home to train and we don’t have people to train beecause every club is trying to hold on to them”. It was a good result for us because the expectation was that we would be beaten silly by the Eagles. We have our strategy about how we are going to approach the match.
According to Oliseh, the non-inclusion of players like Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo, does not mean that they cannot be invited in the future.
“I am impressed with their fitness level”.
