Brock Lesnar to Dana White: Of course pro wrestling is fake
What I would have done: This was booked well, although I think it would have been more effective for Sheamus to go over Randy.
Time for Brock Lesnar.
A big selling point for Lesnar, along with a boatload of money, was the fact that with his schedule pro wrestling wasn’t almost as grueling as going through training camps for a fight. McMahon’s aptitude, Lesnar believes, is one reason why White can get a little sensitive when the UFC is compared to the WWE. But this wasn’t the Undertaker they knew and loved. The guy is a master at using the sports teams of the cities in which they perform to get under the skin of the crowd. Rollins pointed out that Cena should be considered the villain by not allowing the younger generation to step up. It was a fairly heated promo from both sides, and added an element of a personal feud. He mentions that Triple H received a legacy from his mentor, and now Hunter is trying to pass that legacy down to Seth Rollins, but Cena will put an end to all that on Sunday.
Backstage, Seth Rollins is all smiles as he looks at the contract he and Cena will sign later.
-Dolph Ziggler finally made his return to the WWE.
Rusev (with Summer Rae) def. Mark Henry by submission to the Accolade. White has often praised McMahon for his business savvy and may have even modeled his promotional approach from his WWE successes, as well as the failures of another combat sport, boxing. Summer obliged and got slapped down.
WWE’s Stardust-Stephen Amell match will go down in a few weeks. He does about as good with tightly controlled promos as anyone could possibly expect – last night was no exception – and still has the capacity to thrill and surprise us with singular athletic skill when given real time to work a match. I was standing there and I didn’t actually know what to do.
-This was another solid Monday night for the divas. The first was Becky Lynch beating Tamina.
“I think she’s a super athlete in a weak division”. Once again, they gave the spotlight to Cesaro. So it would definitely be a great event when Lesnar fights against the Undertaker in SummerSlam 2015. Even after they were pulled off the ring, their beat-down continued backstage.
Next, Ryback will defend his Intercontinental title against The Big Show and The Miz in a Triple threat match-up. My hat’s off to you, Ronda.
