Independence Day: Kashmiri leader waves Pakistani flag in Srinagar
Pro-Pakistan separatist leader Asiya Andrabi has confirmed that she addressed “over phone” a conference organised by Lashkar founder Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan on August 14, stoking another controversy and prompting police to file one more case against the Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief.
Pertinently, Andrabi and burqa-clad activists of her radical group, Dukhtaran-e-Millat, meaning Daughters of Faith organized a function in Srinagar wherein they hoist Pakistani flags and sang the Pakistani national anthem on Pakistan’s Independence Day.
Saeed was seen sitting on the stage during Andrabi’s address. Aasiya Andrabi was booked in March this year as well for hoisting Pakistani flag in Srinagar on Pakistan Day. BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir unit president Jugal Kishore thereby demanded action against Andrabi for the same.
Militant-turned-human rights activist Ahsan Untoo wearing green clothes inscribed with greeting for Pakistan Independence Day was seen distributing candies among commuters around City Center Lal Chowk. “I expect that she would have been arrested by now and a case of treason would have been registered against her”.
NSA level talks have been scheduled between India and Pakistan Govt’s on August 23 and 24th.
The separatist leader was booked by the Jammu and Kashmir police under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act on Monday.
He said, “I don’t understand why these people have been given a long rope by the present government in J-K”.
