Elizabeth Rodriguez on ‘Fear The Walking Dead’: ‘It Isn’t About Zombies’
Heres how producer and special effects wizard Greg Nicotero put it in the episode commentary on Walking Dead Season 5 Blu-ray, out later this month.
With all the zombie hype that’s happening, let’s take a moment to remember all those undead shamblers that entertained us over the past few decades, especially the ones that were smarter than we originally gave them credit for!
“The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman has been a bit quiet these days, mostly because he doesn’t have a choice.
Kirkman was asked how it feels to generate a brand new story for Fear the Walking Dead as opposed to following the comic books with The Walking Dead.
Fear the Walking Dead will begin on August 23rd at 9pm. So pretty much I’m the caretaker of my son, and in trying to make up for lost time I went back to school.
If you come to “FtWD” looking for more Daryls, Michonnes, Ricks and Carols, you’ll be sorely disappointed: being that the show is currently set years before “Walking Dead” is right now, none of its characters have had time to learn the zombie-killing ropes yet. They’ll be questioning exactly what these “infected” humans are that they’re seeing. All we do know is that it’s going to be insane, if the Season 6 trailer is any indication!
What do you think will happen on Fear the Walking Dead premiere? “They know what the walkers are, they know how to defend themselves, and they’ve already created a sort of a system in their own sort of odd dysfunctional family”, said Erickson.
Fear of the Walking Dead is set in Los Angeles, California and will follow the story of how a divorced male teacher, a female guidance counselor, and her two kids deal with the opening stages of the zombie apocalypse. “Their inclination is not going to be to beat down if it’s a walker coming at them”. There are a number of ways the show can go, and I’m not sure what is best, honestly.
The Walking Dead season six airs Sunday, October 11 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, followed by the season premiere of AMC’s “Talking Dead”, hosted by Chris Hardwick (Nerdist), at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.
As the debut of Fear the Walking Dead nears, Comicbook.com got in interview with star Cliff Curtis about his character, the show and prepping for the zombie apocalypse.
