2 more Malaysians die in Bangkok bomb incident – Ministry
Tan came to Bangkok together with his wife and mother-in-law for a four-day holiday.
Over 100 people are reported injured in the incident near the Erawan temple in Bangkok’s Ratchaprasong District at 7pm local time Monday. “The next thing I knew, none of my family members were in sight”.
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Tuesday condemned the attack as a “heinous act” and said Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha had assured him the perpetrators would be punished.
“I searched for my mother first, and instead found my husband”.
“We all found each other in about five minutes after the explosion”.
“We would like to convey our deepest condolences and sympathy to the victims and their families”, it said.
They were supposed to return today on a 10.10am flight, but instead Tan and his mother-in-law, 52-year-old Tan Kim Siok, find themselves at the Hua Chiew general hospital.
Teo said her mother had a minor injury on her forehead. She says: “I’m depressed for those innocent people who had to pay for something they’re not involved with, and now they’ve got no chance to live their lives because of someone else’s agenda”.
Teo’s Thai cousin, Natthanan Tan, 40, also visited the family after she heard about the blast, and has been in contact with her husband to look into whether their cousins were among the victims.
She cried when talking about the incident, thus cutting short the interview.

“Somehow he seemed to sense that something was wrong as he has been very moody and quiet these two days”, she said, adding that normally Jian Hen is an active and cheerful boy.
“The number of Malaysians injured have increased to three at present”, said the statement.
