Move to L.A. could alter divisions
The process appears to be headed for a confrontation, with Rams owner Stan Kroenke backing a stadium proposal in Inglewood, while Davis and Chargers owner Dean Spanos are supporting a project in Carson. Gathered in a Schaumburg hotel and convention center, owners shared their opinions and concerns with the two proposals to bring a joint-venture stadium to LA, and the most vocal of NFL owners (and perhaps most influential) stated a preference for one plan over the other. The Chargers spent that first season, in 1960, in Los Angeles before moving to San Diego, while the Raiders played in L.A. from 1982 to 1964.
