Jacorey Williams Dismissed From Hog Program
Junior forward Jacorey Williams will not be returning to the Razorback men’s basketball team for the upcoming season, according to a release from head coach Mike Anderson.
Williams was one of three players that was arrested and charged with forgery stemming from a series of incidents where the players were alleged to have been caught using counterfeit money. “There are short- and long-term impacts of how he proceeds and we want to make sure he does what’s best for him and his family and his career beyond Arkansas”, Bielema said. Anton Beard and Dustin Thomas are the other two Hogs involved in the forgery incident, and there is not yet any word on what will happen to them. He was soon after accused of punching a bouncer at a club and pushing his girlfriend to the floor, although no charges were ever filed.
Williams averaged 4.8 points in 16.2 minutes last year as a sophomore. Thomas and Beard purchased individual cigar products with the counterfeit bills then received change in the form of real money, a police spokesman said. Beard and Thomas have not been dismissed from the team, and all three are scheduled for arraignment on the counterfeit charges next week.
