YouTube announces partnership with Whistling Woods for content creation
YouTube has announced the opening of its collaboration and production facility for YouTube video creators “YouTube Space Mumbai” at Whistling Woods worldwide (WWI).
Through this collaboration, India’s popular up-and-coming YouTube creators, as well as their students, will have free access to Whistling Woods’ studios, high-end audio, visual and editing equipment, in addition to training programs, workshops and community events. Famous WWI alumni include actor Anil Mange (PK, Singh is Bling), Abhishek Jain (whose film Bey Yaar became the first Gujarati film to premiere at the New York Indian Film Festival) and Murali Krishna, Kavan J. Ahalpara and Supreet Singh, who were all part of the Oscar-winning team for Best Visual Affects for Ang Lee’s The Life of Pi.
Slated to open in late 2015, the Space will allow YouTube creators and students at WWI to learn about video production, collaborate with other creators, and break down resource barriers that inhibit innovation and creativity.
Check out the Space in the YouTube video below. For budding creators in India who don’t have the studio space, equipment or technical know-how to make their creations come to life, Google is set to make things a whole lot easier. Besides, the company will provide an access to let creators meet fellow creators and get hands-on experience from some of the renowned industry leaders.
It makes sense to open the next one in India, where Web video is steadily gaining momentum – YouTube says that major local creators All India Bakchod and The Viral Fever have garnered over 1 million followers in the past two years.
Google launched its first YouTube Space in 2012 in Los Angeles, Calif., according to global Business Times. To support this incredible community of YouTube creators as well as the next generation of Indian talent, YouTube and Whistling Woods global are excited to be working with each other on this venture.
