Man accused of recruiting prostitutes at Texas colleges
SAPD Officer Douglas Greene, a spokesman, stated Sumlin would offer the women unspecified jobs before forcing them into his “business”.
A sex menu for clients of college prostitutes is some of the new information in the arrest report of a man police said was the head of the prostitution ring.
In addition to finding women online, Sumlin is suspected of visiting various college campuses in San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas.
Greene stated that the man went to college campuses to try and lure women to work for him, with the promise of making a lot of money. And once he’s got them in their grips.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call San Antonio police at 210-207-2313. Sumlin has been arrested on a charge of aggravated promotion of prostitution. The detective gave a $300 “donation” and was taken upstairs where an escort disrobed and lied on the bed.
The women at the house turned on their pimp and cooperated with police after the sting.
Prostitution and “sugar dating” are becoming more popular with college age women as they struggle to pay the rising cost of university tuition without going in to debt for the rest of their lives.
The police now know of about 30 women from the three cities who were Sumlin’s victims.
The Texas attorney general’s office and police in Austin and Dallas helped with the investigation, which spanned six months.
Police said Sumlin was also known by the name Anthony Lamar.
