Blue whale interrupts BBC presenter right on cue
While filming a documentary on whales for the BBC, zoologist Mark Carwardine was lamenting how hard it would be to spot a blue whale as the cruised across the ocean.
He went on: ‘It just makes it so challenging. So, we could be going right by them and have no idea they’re there. “It’s quite exciting in one way, very frustrating in another”, Carwardine said while speaking to the camera on back of the boat.
But just as he uttered the final sentence, a spray of water shot up from the sea behind the presenter indicating the presence of a blue whale, metres from where the boat was floating.
The cameraman can then be heard laughing alongside him and he saying: ‘You could not have made that happen’. A delighted Cawardine exclaimed, “Oh look!”
‘Actually that was a lot easier than I was expected.
