Episcopalians Vote to Allow Gay Marriage in Churches
The Episcopal Church has shrunk 18 percent over the last decade, after more than a generation of steady decline. His term begins November 1.

Wednesday, the Episcopal Church, which has nearly 2 million members in the USA, announced same-sex couples are permitted to marry in the Church, and have their marriage officially recognized by the denomination. He said the changes “likely won’t take place in more conservative parts of the church, like Dallas, Albany and Orlando.” That vote ignited long-simmering tensions with the church’s more conservative overseas partners and led to a schism that had its epicenter in Pittsburgh with the formation of the Anglican Church in North America.
