Kenny Jackett confirms Benik Afobe bid
Wolves coach Kenny Jackett insists in-demand striker Benik Afobe will not be sold, amid interest from Premier League new boys Norwich City.
But Wolves have no intention of selling Afobe and have issued a statement underlining their position in relation to the striker, vowing that he is happy at the club and will not be sold this summer.
After the R’s still-suspect defense put them in a 2-0 at Wolverhampton on Wednesday, Austin nodded home a Phillips pass. Then Phillips scored a pair of his own to give QPR its first win of this spin through the Championship.
The Wolves boss said: “However long he has been here we are looking to keep our best players and try to build round them and try to improve”.
Out of nowhere Rangers halved the deficit on 37 minutes as Austin bagged his second goal in as many games after meeting Matt Phillips’s precise cross from the left with an emphatic header.
“We don’t encourage future bids”.
Aston Villa are lining up a shock transfer move for former Arsenal striker Benik Afobe. “QPR came back into it quickly and got the goal before half-time but the two goals in the second half were disappointing defensively”.
The veteran Gabriel Agbonlahor is still at the club but the aforementioned story would clearly indicate that Sherwood wants to add more firepower to his side and avoid another relegation scrap.
“Charlie is fitter now than the opening day and his hold-up play has answered a few questions people have”.
