Police say a woman has been killed in a knife attack at a supermarket in southern Maine.
Boudreau died shortly after in a hospital in nearby Biddeford, police said.
Police say she attacked Boudreau with a knife near the ice cream freezers inside the market just before 3 p.m.
Two emergency medical technicians, who were also shopping at the store, rushed to treat Boudreau, who had begun to bleed profusely, according to police and media reports.
Police released few details about the incident, but reportedly had a 31-year-old woman in custody.
Shoppers who witnessed the bloodbath inside this Shaw’s grocery store took down MacCalister before she could get away. The station reports that there is no indication that the women knew each other and police are still working on a motive.
McCausland told the Portland Press Herald that MacCalister is expected in court Thursday or Friday.
“The medical examiner is planning an autopsy at some point (Thursday), I believe”, Lt. Brian McDonough with the Maine State Police said.
