Donald Trump says he would ‘scare’ Pope Francis into supporting capitalism
Trump said: ‘I’d say “ISIS wants to get you“. New Pope will be so scared he will soil his pope hat, with pee!
Cuomo then asks: ‘You would scare the Pope?’
“ISIS wants to get you”, Trump said he’d tell the pontiff, noting that the terrorist killers have threatened repeatedly to march on Vatican City.
Trump made the remark as a response, of sorts, to a question from Cuomo asking what would happen if the two met and the pope started talking about the perils of capitalism.
Trump added that he doesn’t believe that Francis is contrary to capitalism, as he is often portrayed.
“You know, it’s a dream of theirs, to go into Italy”. Just wait until you see the Trump Vatican, it’ll be terrific and luxurious and Jesus will be so impressed, he’ll give Trump eternal life so he can be pope forever. “But the truth is – you know, if you look at what’s going on – they better hope that capitalism works, because it’s the only thing we have right now”. “It is a great thing when it works properly”.
“In our country, Chris, it has not been working properly”, he said.
“Between regulation, between all of the Dodd-Frank, between all the different things that have been imposed, we aren’t competitive like we used to be”.
Trump, a billionaire businessman and outlandish US presidential hopeful, has told the 78-year-old Pope to man up because the Islamic State is gunning for him. We have to open up our country to great capitalists.
Meanwhile, Pope Francis recently referred to capitalism and the unbridled pursuit of money as “the dung of the devil”. I like the pope.
LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) – Trump described himself as a Protestant, and thought that Pope Francis was a “good guy” because he is becoming very “political”. “I mean, I wouldn’t vote for him”, she said. “He seems like a pretty good guy”, Trump said. Now leading in most national and primary polls, Trump has surprised many in the political world by vaulted to the top of the Republican primary list. Ted Cruz follows at 10 percent.
