Mumford and Sons cover Eurythmics’ ‘Sweet Dreams’ with Mark Hoppus & more
Hoppus and Mumford were joined by tour openers The Vaccines and Jack Garratt for a cover of The Eurythmics’ 1983 classic “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)”.
So far they have put their spin on The Offspring’s Walla Walla, The Beatles’ With A Little Help From My Friends, Neil Young’s Harvest and Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams. Amongst the four of us, and especially because we’re all songwriters and all play different instruments, we want to keep changing things up.
Watch fan-caught footage from last night’s performance. The latter has been working its way into most sets but their rendition in California was particularly memorable as they were joined by Mark Hoppus of Blink 182.
This isn’t the first time the group has performed the cover, first performing it for a Maida Vale Session in July and then pulling it out during a show in Edmonton.
Mumford & Sons released their third studio album, Wilder Mind, back in May, when it topped both the U.S. and the UK albums chart.
