Hull remain interested in signing Andre Gray
Brentford striker Andre Gray has rejected a move to Bristol City.
‘He was in and trained today, ‘ Dijkhuizen told reporters at his press conference, ‘A bid was accepted by the club from Bristol City and for the past couple of days he has been talking with them, but he did not agree and now he is back.
And there are reports that his proposed move to Ashton Gate may have fallen through, with Robins boss Steve Cotterill telling BBC Radio Bristol on Wednesday evening that there was “nothing to add” regarding their pursuit of the forward.
“We’ve known for long enough now how much it’s going to cost”.
Cotterill had pursued Crystal Palace’s Dwight Gayle before turning his attention to Gray.
The former Luton frontman hit his second goal of the season as Brentford beat City 4-2 on Saturday.
Brentford, meanwhile, have already suffered the loss of last season’s regulars Stuart Dallas and Moses Odubajo, but are third in the table having taken four points from their first two matches.
The Tigers were initially frontrunners to land the 24-year-old, before Bristol City reportedly agreed an £8m deal earlier this week.
Bruce also confirmed after Hull’s win over Fulham last night that the Tigers have made an enquiry to sign Gayle.
“He’s a good player, but whether we can afford him I don’t know”.
