Google names its new Android system Marshmallow
Basically, Fi users can now install the app on their other devices and manage their accounts from any of them, rather than being stuck to just the Nexus 6.
Google unveiled Android M earlier this year and it got everybody thinking since then about the version number and the moniker for the next major Android update. That being said, the word “Google” still reminds most people of one thing, the company’s search engine. “With Verify Apps, over 1 billion devices are protected via Google Play, which conducts hundreds of millions of antivirus-like security scans of devices per day seamlessly in the background”. It includes the new API 23 needed to make current apps compatible with V6 and of course backwards compatible. Google has already released a fix for core Android but, as always, it is left to the manufacturer’s discretion over when the update should be delivered. In the same blog post, the developers announced Marshmallow would support fingerprint identification.
The bug affects Android’s mediaserver component, which handles media files, the same component in which the Stagefright library is found, according to Trend Micro.
Android product manager Jamal Eason also released a statement about the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and even compared the OS to the real marshmallows, which he says is loved by everyone no matter how they are served. After downloading the SDK, developers must update their app project’s compileSdkVersion to 23 to prepare it for testing with their apps.

If the phone is not in use, the operating system will automatically put the device into a sort of power saving mode.
