The Final Whistle: Kerry and Tyrone reveal teams for Sunday
The farrago was sparked by McCann hitting the deck after Monaghan’s Darren Hughes had ruffled his hair in Tyrone’s SFC quarter-final.
Team captain Kieran Donaghy starts instead of Paul Geaney after recovering from injury.
The Tyrone team meanwhile shows just one change from the side which defeated Monaghan in their quarter final as Justin McMahon comes in to replace his brother Joe at centre half-back.
Donaghy returns after missing the last match in place of Paul Geaney.
Tyrone are hoping to reach another All-Ireland final under manager Mickey Harte who led the county to their first All-Ireland in 2003, followed by two further All-Ireland titles in 2005 and 2008.
The last ten minutes or so descended into chaos, with both teams squaring up to each other, but Tyrone were quite happy to play their part in the ugly finish to the game as it knocked precious minutes off the clock.
“Tiernan McCann is a fine young man and a wonderful footballer”.
