A fun family outing quickly turned frightening for several people watching a town-sponsored fireworks display in Colorado.
Tracy Fox/iStock/Thinkstock(AVON, Colo.) – About nine people suffered minor injuries during a fireworks mishap in a Colorado town late Friday evening, officials said. During the show, however, a shell appeared to explode in its tube instead of firing into the sky. See this Instagram video, or others in the video gallery. She says the misfired shell caused a rack of shells to tip, causing two or three shells to go off toward the crowd.
It has been estimated that about nine people experienced minor abrasion burns from the accident, the town said.
