Nottingham Forest approach Watford for Vydra

The Hornets confirmed Italian worldwide Alessandro Diamanti’ season-long loan move from Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande on Monday and have also completed a deal that will see Chelsea youngster Nathan Ake spend the campaign on loan at Vicarage Road.

“We are a bit weak in central midfield”, he told BBC Three Counties Radio.

“West Brom were strong at set-pieces but against Southampton maybe we will try different things”, Flores said.

“We have not made a decision yet, we will have to wait a little while for this”, he said.

The Golden Boys’ first-team squad has swelled to 30 players as a result of the new arrivals but Flores revealed this morning two more additions are likely. He was one of the main players in the squad, but I don’t exactly know what is his situation now because this changes every day.

Quique Flores has been given the green light to carry on spending at promoted Watford.

Vydra spent the 2012-13 season on loan with the Hornets, when he was even more successful, bagging 20 goals in 27 Championship starts.

After opening the season with draws against Everton and West Brom, Watford face Ronald Koeman’s Southampton on Saturday. Flores, however, insists that this is simply the nature of the beast at the highest level of football. I played a lot of times against him for Valencia and Real Madrid when he played for Barcelona. I respect that. The final decision is on the club.
