Jennifer Lawrence tops list of world’s highest paid actresses
Jennifer Lawrence tops Forbes’ list of the planet’s highest-paid actress of the past year, earning $52 million. She came in at No. 4 with $21 million.
Jennifer Lawrence’s Hollywood takeover has really paid off.
The Oscar victor banked an impressive $52 million before taxes over the past year.
The world’s highest-paid actresses took home a bundle in the past 12 months – though it wasn’t almost as much as their male counterparts.
In second place was Avengers star Scarlett Johannson who earned $35.5 million.
According to Forbes some of the more established marquee names (Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts) are only listed this year due to endorsement deals.
The magazine’s latest run-down has elevated Lawrence from No. 2 in the 2014 rankings, but her wages are still dwarfed by those of Robert Downey Jr., who Forbes recently named as the world’s best paid actor with earnings of million.
This doesn’t seem to be a problem for Lawrence, though, as she’s snagged roles in several movies in recent years.
Rounding out the top five were Bingbing Fan, the Chinese actress who appeared in “X-Men: Days of Future Past” ($21 million), and Jennifer Aniston ($16.5 million), who doesn’t do badly when it comes to pitching cosmetics and bottled water. Johansson has Captain America: Civil War ahead next May, which should be more than enough on its own, although McCarthy’s Ghostbusters reboot will be out just after Forbes’ June 2015-June 2016 timeline for next year’s list.
