Financial dispute heats up between family members of the late Robin Williams
Williams’ three children from his first wife namely Cody, Zelda, and Zachary are claiming that Susan Schneider Williams is seeking more money than what is due her in their father’s last will and testament.
Apparently Williams’ Schneider cannot agree with the children on the amount on how much she should get.
The children argue that the trustees have taken inventory of all the trust’s property and come to a final decision on the distribution of all assets which will allow the comic’s widow and third wife, Susan Schneider, to live in the house she and Williams shared, with all the home’s expenses paid until her death.
The two sides have been locked in a bitter legal battle over details of the late actor’s estate for months, including over which items should be considered “memorabilia”.
Just days after the one-year anniversary of his death, a new set of court documents show the legal battle between Robin Williams’ widow and his three children over his assets continues to rage. They insisted that the trust specified “She can not do so”.
Now, Williams is taking it a step further by alleging that she is not receiving enough money to cover the insurance, mortgage, and upkeep of their multimillion dollar property in Tiburon, California. The Williams’ children say she is seeking more than what was discussed as part of the agreement and was “reasonably determined” for maintaining the property.
Attorneys for Schneider have claimed that Williams’ trust was “ambiguous” on certain matters, including who should receive assets like Williams’ art collection.
“[Schneider] attempts to manipulate this language in [an] attempt to enhance her financial position at the expense of the Williams Children”, the recent court filing reads.
His children claim their stepmother [Wenn] is being greedy.
