There were multiple reports of an observed tornado in Livingston County Tuesday evening after counties across the state saw another night of tense severe weather.
Between 1 and 3 inches of rain fell in an hour across parts of the Chicago area before the storms tapered off, according to the National Weather Service. Neither a funnel cloud nor a tornado have been reported. Will County Emergency Management Director Will Damron stated some communities together with Joliet, Lemont, Romeoville and Homer Glen activated their outside sirens as a warning to residents. Heavy rainfall and flash flooding are also threats with any of these storms. He said the area is very rural.
