A new Tile Bluetooth tracker arrives with a louder ringer and more
So now losing your stuff is as easy as finding it. Just by attaching a small device to your valuables you can keep them safe, so the next time you leave your keychain in the pocket of your pants which are tucked away in the cupboard you won’t have to search through all your clothes to find them (such a relief). And now you can get yourself a Tile while buying a new T-Mobile phone, picking up some other accessories, or paying your bill.
If both your smartphone and your Tile are nowhere to be found, you can still find them using the Tile web-based app. Log in to the website to send a ring alert.
You can also turn any nearby smartphones (both Android and iOS) into virtual Tiles without needing the actual dongle.
If you’ve never heard of the Tile before, that’s OK, but it might be worth your time to check this little piece of technology out.
Tile Gen 2 is also three times louder than its predecessor.
In addition, the new Tile has added a feature to help with hard-to-find items: when a user loses something, he or she can notify the Tile network, which will activate every user’s phone to look for the item.
If you have your keys but not your phone, meanwhile, you can tap your Tile to cause your smartphone to emit a noise. Even if the phone’s volume is turned down or the ringer is disabled, Tile will still ring it loudly.
When it comes to pricing, a single Tile Bluetooth dongle retails for $25. “We like it so much, T-Mobile is now selling it in our stores”.
The new Tile is available for $24.99, but customers interested in purchasing many units of the device can get discounts on Tile’s online shop. The new version of Tile isn’t really slim for such a type of device it’s 3/16 of an inch thick, it has a fully sealed battery which the company says will last a whole year before it needs to be replaced.
