New Android devices can now come with less Google bloatware
These new functions will allow you to interact with content without having to launch specific apps.
As is the case with most Google apps, they are continuously seeing very routine updates with a number of new features rolling through. The Navigation card now features an arrow button, while the music card displays a play/pause toggle.
You can now select Print Layout from the overflow menu in the top right corner of the Docs app on Android and iOS to see a fully paginated, read-only version of your document. There’s also the perpetual promise of bug fixes and performance improvements.
Also, Navigation is expanded on the home screen to show turning directions without forcing users over to the main app. Some manufacturers might still decide to pre-load these apps on their devices, but many will choose not to. Google Play Games, Google Play Books, Google+ and Google Newsstand now join the ranks with Google Earth and Google Keep as apps that aren’t a required part of the Google applications package.
In order for an Android device to get Google apps like Gmail and the Google Play Store, they’ve got to have an entire suite of Google-selected apps installed on them.
