Rabbit Invades Bristol Motor Speedway During Truck Practice
The four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion racing in his final full-time campaign will attempt to drive his colorful auto to Victory Lane for the first time this season in the IRWIN Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN). He led 19 laps there earlier this year before finishing 39th, but his three Dover races before that all led to finishes of seventh or better and at least 53.5 fantasy points.

It would probably smarter to watch the final 20 laps and wait for the fireworks to occur, but you have to get that entire story of what’s happening in the race. So fast, in fact, that one rabbit wanted to show off his speed on the race track. However, restarts again flummoxed Edwards for the third time in four races, as he could never get going when the green flag waved.
Kenseth’s win in April was his fourth at Bristol in 31 starts – he’s won twice on the old layout and twice on the new layout that features multiple grooves. “It’s just hard to take man. You try to look at the silver lining, but at the moment, the silver lining looks pretty black”.
“Once you do it (win a race) once, you want to do that every week”, Smith said.
“I can’t remember where we’ve kind of had a stretch like this over these last 10 weeks or so”, Joe Gibbs said.
When Ryan Newman was docked 50 points in the spring for doctoring tires the penalty seemingly ensured that if he were to make the Chase, he would have to do so by winning race and not by his ranking in the standings.
“It was a really good restart for us”, said Busch of his 30 second charge to third place at the end. “I was able to get on the outside of the 33 (Brandon Jones) and the 88 (Crafton)”.
“I think we’ll have a great truck”, added Jones. Our truck was fast tonight. “There weren’t enough laps to catch the #29, and we were just in the wrong position”.
Tyler Reddick was eighth. Johnny Sauter is a further 46 points back, with a similar gap back to Daniel Henric who has a narrow lead over Cameron Haley.
Kyle Busch has five wins at Bristol, but none since 2011.
All three national-level series are in action at Bristol this week, with the Xfinity Series holdings all its practice, qualifying and race sessions on Friday and the Sprint Cup Series holding its annual night race on Saturday evening. Timothy Peters, John Wes Townley, Spencer Gallagher and Ben Kennedy round out the top ten.
And that is what the truck series should be.
