Count Chocula beer back at Black Bottle August. 25
This year, The Coloradoan reports that General Mills kindly sent Black Bottle the cereal to make the beers.
Some Colorado fans of the chocolate and marshmallow cereal were unhappy they couldn’t find it locally, since General Mills only releases its monster-themed cereals like Count Chocula and Boo Berry for a few months in the fall, to tie in with Halloween, according to the Business Journal.
Last year, Black Bottle Brewery in Colorado angered Fort Collins locals by clearing grocery store shelves of the limited-edition cereal in order to brew a seasonal beer Cerealiously Count Chocula.
This year, the brewery is getting the Count Chocula cereal directly from the supplier, General Mills.
When a Minneapolis craft brewer revealed last week that it will make a General Mills-sponsored Wheaties beer, the story made national headlines.
Afterward, General Mills and Black Bottle struck up an informal relationship in which the food producer began sending cereal and swag to the brewery for its various tappings. “We are really lucky to have gotten it over a month ago”. It will then travel to the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in October and should show up in bottles before Halloween.
Black Bottle Brewery has also made beers using Golden Grahams, Reese’s Puffs, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
