Over Ten Countries to Join China’s V-Day Parade
The Army, Navy, Air Force, Second Artillery Force and Armed Police will all debut their new armament, and all of the armament are made in China, added Qu.
“About 84 per cent of the armaments, to be showcased in the September 3 military parade, has never been presented to the public before, said a senior military officer on Friday, according to the China Military, the official media of the Peoples’ Liberation Army”.
On August 20, 2015 India confirmed the acceptance of China’s invitation for China’s victory parade at Tian’anmen Square in Beijing.
“There is no doubt about the fast-growing armament industry”, Wong said.
“This is not directed at any third parties”, Qu said. “It represents transparency, peace and friendliness … it’s not meant for any particular country”, he said.
South Korean television network KBS reported a similar ban was placed on residents during China’s National Day parade on October 1, 2009. There were others in 1984, 1999 and – most recently – 2009, to mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Chinese President Xi Jinping attended a similar parade in Moscow in May commemorating victory over Nazi Germany and President Vladimir Putin is due to return the gesture by travelling to the Beijing event.
About 12,000 PLA troops will march while 2,400 singers perform 30 revolutionary songs in the 70-minute event.
“Their participation in the parade is a clear indication of their attitude of commemorating the victory of the world anti-fascist war jointly, and a symbol of the aspiration for and pursuit of enduring world peace”, Qu said. Governments from the continents of Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania and the Americas will take part.
“Beidou highly accurate orientation and measurement technology”, part of China’s indigenous positioning system, has been used in training for the upcoming high-profile parade in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The veterans, many of whom are over 90 years old and all from the Chinese mainland, will ride in mini buses in two formations, representing both the forces led by the CPC and the KMT.
