Ranieri – Foxes can be like Napoli
Gokhan Inler could make his Leicester debut against Tottenham after joining from Napoli this week.
Oliva, 56, won Olympic gold at light-welter in 1980 and won 57 of his 59 pro fights.
And the modest, likeable, Inler believes his extra training will help him succeed in England.
The midfielder does not want to be compared to Esteban Cambiasso after penning a three-year deal from Napoli.
“He called my agent and we met – now he is my friend”.
“I told him if he came here he can enjoy his football”.
He said: “It was very complicated but I wasn’t involved with all of the traffic”.
‘Boxing is good for the body, not just fitness and mentally as well.
“My experience is different, I had also high level games”. I had no control, ‘ revealed Inler. “The tests say he is ready to play immediately and that is important for him and I will choose the first XI on Friday”.
“The Premier League is physical for sure. I will give my positive energy to them”. But after Maradona everyone wants to go to Naples. The 31-year-old continued, saying that he will “give [his] best for this team” before concluding with; “when we win, we win together”. “You show your opponent that you are scared, and you are ‘KO”.
“The pressure that a boxer feels can be the same as playing in a really big football match. It’s important that you must play like it is your final game“. “Inler is one of our foundations”, Ranieri said. ‘We knew they (Spain) were strong but we were so strong in all departments.
Inler joined from Napoli earlier this week and was described by his new boss as a “very experienced player” who “comes from Italy, where football is tactical“. The spirit here, the unit, the staff, everybody around me is fantastic.
But Inler is not always primed for battle. I like that – but they don’t hit you. I find that relaxing.
“I’m looking for a house with a nice, big garden”. “I grew up on a farm in Switzerland with lots of dogs and cats”.
Tottenham are undoubtedly a superior outfit to Sunderland and West Ham, but I think Leicester can ride the crest of the wave for a little longer. I want to live here.
Here is a player who relishes a challenge, which is good news for coach Claudio Ranieri. “Now this is the time for me”.
