Woman stabbed to death while shopping, police say
Boudreau died shortly after in a hospital in nearby Biddeford, police said.
Saco Police took MacCalister into custody at the store and she was interviewed by State Police detectives who informed her after 7 p.m. that she was being charged with murder, reports the station. He said there’s no indication the suspect and victim knew each other.
‘She wanted to target a small elderly female whom she knew wouldn’t resist, ‘ MacCalister’s arrest affidavit reads.
MacCalister told Kennedy she planned to go to the store and kill several random people.
She was scheduled to make her first appearance Friday in York County Superior Court in Alfred.
“The medical examiner is planning an autopsy at some point tomorrow, I believe”, Lt. Brian McDonough with the Maine State Police said.
Boudreau’s family could not be reached for comment Thursday, but Paul said he had spoken to Boudreau’s husband.
Saco residents expressed shock Thursday over Boudreau’s killing. Many said they’ve spent the day thinking about the family Boudreau left behind. My kids are so devastated, they loved their grandmother so much, she was a huge presence in their lives. “Why did you do this?” to which she replied “She looked at me funny”. She and Boudreau had organized play dates for their children when they were young.
It has also since been revealed that MacCalister previously went by the name Tenisha Amber Hopkins, but legally changed her name to Connor Shane MacCalister in January 2005.
