Jeb Bush on Immigration: Husband of Mexican Wife Defends ‘Anchor Baby’ Terminology
Having been knocked from his front-runner perch, a fiery Jeb Bush lashed out at Republican rival Donald Trump on Thursday as the former Florida governor fights to energize his stalled campaign and stop the billionaire businessman’s summer surge.
Trump went on to rip Bush’s past observation about illegal immigration being an “act of love” as another “really dumb” statement, declaring, “I don’t see how he’s electable”. A group that Bush helped launch and is still listed as a member of the national advisory board for advised against using the phrase. Or rather, Trump is not any more alienating than Republican candidates to a demographic that is thoroughly media injected. You can mention his name … But this morning, The Washington Post reports that the head of the Jeb Bush super PAC says they not going to spend a dime on Trump and they’re hoping in the end it’s a matchup between Trump and Bush, David.

A busy week on the campaign trail in New Hampshire could mark the beginning of an intense rivalry between the top two Republican candidates.
He was addressing the Kochs’ flagship conservative political organization’s annual summit for the first time.
Clinton’s allies predict congressional Republicans will overplay their hand when Clinton testifies in October before a GOP-led panel investigating the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.
While those in the Democratic field have largely steered clear of the email review, O’Malley said Wednesday in Las Vegas that Clinton’s email practices had become a “huge distraction” from what Democrats should be talking about and said it showed the need for more televised debates. But no matter how much they want to celebrate it, Republicans have learned: You don’t score a lot of points for fixing something you messed up in the first place. Despite his clashes with Graham in the Senate, Cruz’ calls for a muscular foreign policy could appeal to the several dozen supporters the South Carolinian has amassed.
“Is that a contradiction?”
He even opened up about his own children’s mixed heritage saying, “I’m proud of the fact that my kids have a Mexican-American mom”.
Bush and George H.W. Bush will headline a donor event for the younger Bush’s White House bid on October 25 and 26, a campaign official confirmed Friday.
Bush was asked by reporters if he regretted using the term anchor babies during a recent radio interview, and he snapped at the reporter, “You give me a better term and I’ll use it”. “I didn’t use it as my own language”, Bush said.
