Woman’s body stolen from San Antonio funeral home
A family is desperate to be united with their daughter after her body was stolen from inside a San Antonio funeral home.
Investigators say the body of 26-year-old Julie Motts was stolen from a casket August 15 at Mission Parks Funeral Chapel North.
The San Antonio Express News reported the casket holding Mott’s body was moved into a hallway after the service so it could be cremated. Javier Salazar. “We are hoping that the public may be able to help assist us”.
The next day, funeral home employees found the casket empty. That suspect and Mott’s remains remain a mystery.
Julie Mott of San Antonio died earlier this month of cystic fibrosis.
Detectives acknowledged it took a lot of effort to remove Mott’s body; The corpse was heavy and was carried out of the funeral home.
Dick Tips, the owner of the funeral home, has offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the return of the body and identification of the thief.
