Ashley Madison hack puts gay lives at risk
More than 100 credit card transactions from government computers have now been linked to the hacked Ashley Madison website.

The privacy policy on Ashley Madison states the company treats “data as an asset that must be protected against loss and unauthorized access” and uses “standard practices and technologies”, including firewalls and encryption, to help protect user data from prying eyes.
There are hundreds of email addresses in the data release that appear to be connected to federal, provincial and municipal workers across Canada, as well as to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the military.
“Our focus is on the two companies who operate Ashley Madison“. And the people we talked to weren’t very sympathetic to those who were hacked. The addresses may be fake.
Fortunately for those involved in this report, none of the names have been released.
“Yes, the services are looking into it as well they should be”, said U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter.
Both Oregon and Washington are “no fault” states when it comes to divorce, so Stahancyk said, “the fact that you are morally inappropriate within your marriage does not affect the financial distribution of the assets”.
The group, which goes by the moniker Impact Team, answered questions via email from tech news site Motherboard.
“The opportunity to be anonymous and to link up with someone to have a thrill, something that’s exciting, I think that’s the draw that Ashley Madison has”, said Dr. Stewart R. Beasley, PH.D.
One comment on the Inside Higher Ed article pointed out: “Most large universities encourage alumni to keep their student email accounts”. The number one spot is taken by Michigan State University. “Outside of the social liability problem of your spouse finding out, but your work finding out”, he said.
What might make the Ashley Madison hack different and more significant to users is in that case personal relationships and family dynamics could be affected.
Analysis of the data leaked on Tuesday by hackers shows that the vast majority of the reported 1.2m UK users of the site were not paying customers.
