Dylan McGeouch signs three-year Hibernian deal
McGeouch, 22, made 26 appearances for Hibs last season while on loan. I think I made my thoughts very clear.
“Possibly he (Stubbs) was meaning he’d be in a good position in terms of the financial aspect of rebuilding a squad and being able to attract a certain level of player to the club”.
Asked if it would affect his relationship with Stubbs, he replied: “If we are that childish then I think we’ve both got a problem”.
Talking to Hibernian’s official website the fomer Scotland under-21 internationalist said: “I’m really pleased to join Hibs permanently and picking up from where I left off last season”. If anyone thinks I would come out and say managing Rangers is easy then, come on.
McCann doesn’t expect any animosity to spill into the fixture and added: “To be honest, I don’t think there will be anything of it”.
“When you’ve got no money it’s hard and when you’ve got money it’s easier”. I might look daft, I’m certainly not that daft. If I was a Hibs manager, I wouldn’t like to sell Scott Allan to Rangers, my biggest challengers for the Championship. “Managing Celtic is not easy, managing Real Madrid and Man United is not easy”.
It is another piece of business between the Easter Road club and Celtic, with playmaker Scott Allan having moved west in a permanent switch and Liam Henderson having moved to Leith on loan.
But Stubbs, experienced enough to know high-profile matches such as tomorrow’s bring with them a tendency for pre-match controversy, is not anxious by the latest hostilities.
“You’ve got two teams who have got aspirations to do really well this season and try and win the league”.
“But there has to be an element of truth to it as well”.
However, when asked about the issue at Rangers’ Murray Park training ground, Warburton said it was time to move on. “We’ll shake hands and I’m sure he’ll have a drink for me after the game”.
“Clubs who Mark Warburton might be trying to attract a player from know that Rangers maybe have a bit of financial clout there so they up the ante”.
“It’s Rangers at the end of the day, I’d play anywhere for them”.
“The most important thing is not me and Mark, and I would think he would say that as well”.
“It’s got the makings of being a really good game of football, one where we can hopefully showpiece Scottish football”.
“I always felt Mark Warburton would be a fantastic addition to the Rangers staff to get the club going again”.
