Teen’s Body Discovered On Road In West Chester
West Chester police responded to the 700 block of Hillsdale Road in East Bradford Township at approximately 10:20 p.m. Thursday, after a passing motorist reported they had seen what appeared to be a body lying on the side of the road.
According to DA Thomas P. Hogan and West Chester Borough Police Chief Scott Bohn, the four men are charged with conspiracy, murder, robbery and related offenses. Police said Cristian Santiago, 17, of West Chester, was pronounced dead at the scene. “All over a little marijuana and a few dollars”. “He was the coolest kid in West Chester to meet up with and hang out with”, said another friend. Police eventually were able to identify the victim as Santiago.
The fourth man was Santiago’s friend and arranged the drug deal, knowing he would be robbed. Winfield knew that the victim sold marijuana. Myers and Winfield are both from West Chester.
Officials in the West Chester Area School District sent a letter to district parents today informing them of Santiago’s death.
Police said Santiago got into a vehicle with the three men who then drove away. The victim was shot in the chest at close range.
The body was found on Hillsdale Road between Bradford Avenue and McIntosh Road.
Less than a day after authorities began investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old West Chester youth, Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced four arrests in what he termed “a brutal and senseless killing”.
