£300000 Lamborghini and Rolls Royce destroyed in arson attack
The severe blaze gutted the 150 sq m building which is used to house a fleet of luxury cars.
English investigators are treating a recent blaze that destroyed hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of supercars as arson, according to reports.
Fire crews released pictures of the smoke-blackened wreckage of the metallic orange sports auto and a silver Rolls-Royce Phantom, which costs around £250,000 brand new.
Roads were closed as eight fire crews battled the inferno at the 150 square metre one-storey building in the early hours of Friday morning.
A force spokesman said: “It’s being treated as arson and police investigation has been launched”.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson added: ‘We were called at 12.31am at Heath Mill Lane.
It was eventually brought under control just before 3am.
It’s believed the workshop was owned by a luxury vehicle hire company.
‘At the height of the blaze we had 18 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackling the fire inside the commercial building.
A Lamborghini Aventador, a Rolls Royce Ghost and a Rolls Royce Phantom worth an estimated £740,000 in total melted in the heat.
Officers from West Midlands Police said they had launched an arson inquiry after being called to the scene by the fire brigade.
No injuries were reported.
