Jolla tablet now available for public preorder
The jolla Tablet has been one which has hit the headlines a lot over this year and seemed to do well when it was crowd seeking funds, through its Indiegogo campaign. Pre-orders are open to the EU, Norway, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Australia, India, and Hong Kong.
The sole Jolla Tablet is finally accessible for pre-orders. There’s no Google Play Services included, but it’s always good to try new things.
Interested customers can now send in their reservations for the tablet, which was unveiled back in March at the annual Mobile World Congress that was held in Barcelona, Spain. The tablet comes in 32GB and 64GB storage variants, with both offering support for microSD card (up to 128GB) should you want to extend the storage.
In terms of specifications, the tablet features a 7.85-inch display with a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. Jolla brags that Sailfish brings with it the top “multitasking experience” available, and that users are handed total control for managing their running apps, toggling betwixt different apps, and more.
Finnish startup Jolla was founded by former Nokia employees who chose to develop devices that would use an operating system, Sailfish 2.0, based on the abandoned MeeGo project. Sailfish OS also lets you run Android apps after downloading them from the Jolla Store or “different Android app marketplaces”.
The Finland based company claims that its own OS Sailfish does not feature any back doors or other ways by which the data of users’ can be stolen or spied on. The cost of the 32GB model of the Jolla tablet starts at _215.32 ($330); while the 64GB version of the tablet is priced at _241.13 ($370). The connectivity options bundled with the device are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack, and A-GPS/ Global Positioning System . However, the price will vary according to your location.
