Wax Museum Cracking Down On Lewd Selfies With Nicki Minaj Figure

Minaj then posted photos to Instagram showing visitors posing inappropriately with her waxwork and Madame Tussauds responded by issuing a statement vowing to prevent it from happening again.

Museum visitors are usually allowed to get up close and sometimes touch the statues.

“We have been made aware of the inappropriate photograph that was taken at Madame Tussaudes Las Vegas, involving Nicki Minaj‘s new wax figure”, they wrote on Twitter.

According to the Madame Tussauds Las Vegas website, the wax figure took almost six months to create by more than 20 artists.

“We do have staff monitoring guest behaviour in the attraction and do our utmost to ensure our wax figures are treated respectfully, but on this occasion clearly one of of our hosts was not present”, the statement continued. We apologize for any offense (sp) this has caused… “As with all people we immortalize in our attractions, her representatives were kept informed every step of the way during the figure-creation process and, once it was unveiled, Minaj herself repeatedly expressed her love of the figure on social media, calling the display “so iconic” and indicating her desire to come see it in person”. The video – and the song itself – have obvious sexual overtones so the museum was taking something of a risk by depicting Minaj in such a position.

She added, “As much as that woman has accomplished, they had to put her on all fours…” “Why not standing up with a mic in her hand???”

The set around the statue will also undergo a redesign so similar pictures can’t be taken.
