Allan set to leave Hibs
Will Scott Allan be a success at Celtic?
He said: “I am absolutely delighted to sign for Celtic, such a fantastic club”.
Allan admitted his move might have raised a few eyebrows.
“Obviously I know him coming through the youths and he has played with Dundee United and Hibs”.
“Would I prefer him to be away before the game?”
‘Did he go on loan to Birmingham City?
“It’s 2015, you know what I mean?” Celtic manager Ronny Deila slammed his side’s mental approach as the Scottish champions slipped to a surprise 2-2 draw against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park yesterday.
The 23-year old will be hoping to put the controversy behind him and get back to footballing matters as soon as possible, with his next task being to break into a team with the likes of Kris Commons, James Forrest and Stefan Johansen among his rivals for a starting berth.
‘We have every respect for Celtic.
‘It is based on my purely football-related assessment.
“If we played against each other, that would be interesting”. He thinks I can become a much better player. This has left clubs struggling for funds so much that even Celtic, a club with a 60,000 seater stadium has the equivalent spending power of a good championship side. It’s probably my strength, to find out tactics against different opponents.
“So I can’t really fault what they have done”.
How did John Collins manage to annoy so many in Scottish football with what looked like a statement of the bleeding obvious? He reminds me of Willie Johnston.
But the player, who stressed he will continue to live in Glasgow, stated he had not had any contact with Rangers and is confident he will be able to perform to the best of his abilities at Celtic despite the response to his decision. He’s more of a winger than a midfielder – he’s a throwback.
‘I’ve followed Celtic from the early days, I’m that old.
“All I remember was that it was quite amusing”.
‘I watched the final against Inter Milan when I was young.
“I am sure the fans will be right behind him because he will be a really good player for Celtic”. His family and friends are on board, as is his former boss Alan Stubbs at Hibs. Strikers such as Henrik Larsson, Mark Viduka, and Paolo Di Canio populated the dressing room of Celtic, and around the turn of the millennium there were midfielders like Gennaro Gattuso, Mikel Arteta and Barry Ferguson at Rangers.
“He understood my reasons for a transfer request and I understood their reasons for not being too happy with it”.
‘But never Scotland. Aside from Rangers and Celtic, there is only really Aberdeen and they had a Dane in Ebbe Skovdahl.
‘The manager just told me that if I have the workrate in my game, then the other side I’ve got is the easy part.
Hareide also admitted he’s anxious about a countryman at Parkhead, after revealing he’s been hugely impressed with midfielder Stefan Johansen.
I would love to say this could be a low point of the newly formed SPFL, but I cant see it being so.
