Liverpool’s Lallana has cunning plan for Arsenal visit
Brendan Rodgers’s side have registered consecutive 1-0 wins over Stoke City and Bournemouth in their first two league fixtures of the 2015/16 league campaign and will be up against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in their next outing. He’s great in the air and good with his feet. Hopefully we can go there and put on a good show.
Liverpool now move on to an even tougher task away against Arsenal next Monday night, with many seeing it as the first real opportunity to really measure both sides’ current level.
The former Aston Villa man, who was signed for £32.5m last month (via BBC Sport), has now scored twice in three total appearances for us, his new club, having previously got off the mark with a thunderous strike during our friendly win over Swindon Town.
He told Liverpool’s official website: “We’ll go to Arsenal with a game-plan to keep this run going”.
Liverpool will be eager to improve upon their sixth placed league finish from last season and attempt to find a spot among the top four this term.
As at the Britannia, Liverpool weren’t at their fluid best but managed to hold firm against a lively Bournemouth side.
But, the Reds have made a steady start to the new campaign and Lallana is sure they’ll right that result this time around.
The England worldwide feels it shows they are ready to fight for every point available, no matter how fine the margins may be.
“People were bigging up that game but this was a potential banana skin”.
As quoted on Sky Sports, Lallana says defensive strength will be the key to getting another three points. We’re going to have to scrap for results this year. But it was the minimum we should have been expecting, being able to grind out scrappy 1-0 wins is an ability any team competing for European places should have. It was massively important for us.
‘We know there’s room for improvement and we’re working hard in training to achieve that. “There’s no doubt we have a lot of ability in the squad and I think you’ll see our performances improve over the coming weeks”.
