Your tweets now show up in Google desktop search results, too
Today’s change follows a similar move earlier this year, when Google began integrating tweets into mobile results, and comes roughly six months after Twitter announced a deal with the tech giant.
Google has been rolling out its new Twitter search results for a while, according to Engadget.
The tweets displayed in the search results aren’t highlighted using cards like the company has been doing for a while for various technologies, famous people, and companies, but the tweets are displayed using a side-scrolling carousel, which allows a user to view more tweets by pressing the left/right arrows. While this integration was limited to Google Search app on Android and iOS devices, Google has now rolled out the Twitter integration on desktop search results as well. But there are a few things users need to keep in mind.
Google also said the relevancy and ranking behind these Twitter results will continue to evolve and improve as the process matures.
Google and Twitter have extended their partnership for indexing of tweets on the social network to Desktops. But still, it’s better late than never, right? Google said that now the feature is available only in English, but soon other languages will also be added.
To test out the new Twitter search results integration, you can search for something like “Softpedia Twitter” and see how they are displayed.
If you haven’t downloaded the Google app already, then we suggest that you give it a good spin right now, after all, it’s absolutely free.
