First look at Samsung Galaxy Note 5

With the phablet market getting bigger all the time (getting bigger in sales, but not necessarily in size), it should surprise no one to see that the Galaxy Note 5 is here.

So this morning Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus at their Galaxy Unpacked event in New York.

The Galaxy 6 Edge+ is an update on the Galaxy 6 and is thinner, faster, and flashier than its predecessor boasting a width of just 7mm.

Samsung hopes to receive an upper hand in the market before Apple arrives with its upgraded iPhone this year, The Australian noted.

The new version comes with a stylus – which Samsung says makes it suitable for productivity tasks. Live Broadcast is available on both the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5. Instead, carriers will require customers to pay the full retail cost of the phones. In addition, both devices will come with a similar megapixel lens of 16 MP for the rear and 5 MP for the front-facing camera, which is also capable of recording 4K quality videos (3,840 x 2,160).
