Double Homicide Under Investigation
Florida State University police were notified around 11 a.m. Friday that Nicole Gene Nachtman, an FSU sophomore, was considered a person of interest in the killings. On Saturday, a Leon County judge ordered her held without bail.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide uncovered Thursday night.
On August 21, Nachtman was located in Tallahassee for questioning.
Thursday night, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a multiple “shots fired” call at a home in the Tampa area.
Myriam Dienes, 56, was found dead in a driveway Friday morning near her house in Carrollwood Village.
Officials have offered few details about the crime or why it was committed. Deputies arrived and found the couple’s bodies.
They are unsure about the man’s death, but they said it appeared he was entering the home when it happened.
Nicole Nachtman is the daughter of Myriam Dienes and stepdaughter of Robert Dienes.
Ranahan said she never had seen Nachtman.
Neighbor Lee Reynolds said she heard a loud noise while she was in her home.
The Tampa Bay Times reports (http://bit.ly/1NMlUxV ) Myriam Dienes was a Navy captain who had just returned home when she was killed.
On Friday, law enforcement vehicles and media vans lined the otherwise quiet suburban street, which was cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape.
“Every once in a while you hear about cars being gone through and stuff like that, but that’s about all you get”, Ranahan said.
