Chelsea sign Falcao on one-year loan
Welcome to Chelsea, El Tigre.
Though Chelsea have not been busy during the transfer window so far, signing Falcao on loan, while their counterparts have been busy. The salary quoted by various media outlets is around the mid £100k mark per week, which isn’t insane by any means and a huge paycut on the salary he was being paid at Old Trafford.
“The players that are there will adapt a lot easier this season, they’ve had a year with him, he’s had a year with them and it should be a more comfortable position to start from”.
Regardless of the competition his team are competing in, Jose Mourinho genuinely wants to win every trophy.
The 30-year-old forward moved to the Emirates three years ago but struggled to hold down a place in Arsene Wenger’s side – spending the second part of last season on loan at Inter Milan.
Chelsea is perhaps the best example of a club that has been run with this culture, where agents hold significant influence facilitating multimillion pound signings, in the process transforming the club into a world footballing superpower.
After two goals in three games at the beginning of last season, he joined United, helping Louis van Gaal’s side finish fourth to qualify for the Champions League. In the season just finished, the Belgium man was released from the shackles of Mourinho-ite defensive responsibility and encouraged to play his own game.
What Falcao arguably needs is a run in the first team to get back to his best, although that is unlikely to come at Stamford Bridge.
No one can deny that Radamel Falcao is a world class talent. Now, players are on vacation but I’m sure he’ll be back in shape.
He scored 52 times in 68 La Liga matches for Atletico and, even grabbed a hat-trick against the Blues in the 2013 Uefa Super Cup in Monaco, before his move to the principality.
Most Chelsea supporters aren’t at all convinced, but the thought of a Costa/Falcao pairing does summon curiosity.
