WWE star Cena will grant milestone 500th Make-A-Wish request
The lucky recipient of John Cena’s 500th granted wish is Rocco, an eight year-old from Queens diagnosed with leukemia.
Recently he got his transplant, his health is improving and now, because of the work of the Make A Wish Foundation, Pritchett and his family flew out to Brooklyn to meet Cena.
Cena surprised him on the set with a championship belt and tickets for Monday’s show. By 2012 he had granted 300, and in 2014, 400. He was the first celebrity to reach those milestones. If I can offer a fantastic experience, I’ll be the first in line to do my part.”“I’ll continue to be involved with Make-A-Wish as long as they’ll have me.”“. At Friday’s event lauding Cena’s accomplishment, the sports entertainment company made a $1 million commitment to Make-A-Wish.
“[Cena is] an entertainer, but he’s a fighter”.
Cena commented during his appearance, “A lot of times when people donate time or resources, there’s a little speculation about where it goes”. “I have faced some of the toughest Superstars in WWE history and I’ve never encountered more bravery or toughness than I see in each wish kid that I meet”. Sometimes, when the worst happens and a child passes away, Cena will receive letters from the bereaved yet grateful parents, thanking him for being a bright spark in their children’s short lives. “That’s what resonates so much with these kids”.
“Those are always hard to read”. Today, we learned Cena is afraid of heights.
