Ronda Rousey will fight former boxer Holly Holm on January 2

While the victory was an improvement over her debut, a split verdict against Raquel Pennington at UFC 184, it was generally assumed that Holm needed more seasoning at the sport’s highest level before she could ascend to the top of the division. Due to an outcry on Twitter during a Dana White Q&A session, the fight was changed and Rory MacDonald was given a championship opportunity instead.

In the whirlwind of fight announcements (read about those here and here) made by UFC yesterday (Fri., August 21, 2015), including Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm for the 135-pound title in the main event, one more is being reportedly targeted to take place on the same night inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Given that your last fight was 34 seconds long, how many seconds do you think it will take this time?”

While that was impressive on its own, Jedrzejczyk asserted herself as one of the scariest fighters in MMA with her vicious demolition of Jessica Penne.

Holm has won two fights by decision since joining the UFC earlier this year, but neither was particularly impressive.

“Definitely my biggest challenge to date, so I’m super excited about it”, Rousey told the morning show. I’m not sure losing another fight to Ronda so soon would be good for Miesha. “Everyone’s already seen that fight”, he said.

Tate does not have an opponent for her next outing at the moment, but she conveyed her interest in locking horns with Invicta FC featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino at a 140-pound catchweight. However, the highly decorated pugilist and kick boxer is in new territory with the upcoming UFC bout. It’s that bad folks. Rousey is the only women’s bantamweight champion in UFC history, and the former Olympic judoka has parlayed her electrifying MMA success into worldwide fame and an acting career.
