Jet crash kills seven in British airshow

The jet plane which was named as Hawker Hunter was taking part in an air show at an airport near Shoreham in Sussex. Police would be stopping cars to ask people for video footage to aid the investigation.
Witnesses say the plane was performing a loop but did not complete the manoeuvre and crashed in a fireball.
Stephen Jones added: “He made a quick pass along the crowd line and pulled up into a loop and as he came out of it, I thought, ‘this is wrong, you’re too low, you’re not going to make this'”. That road has been chockablock all day and we can see stationary cars there now.
“We saw a massive plume of smoke, a big explosion”. It looks like a war zone.
The sound of applause rang out across the airfield as people stood solemnly watching.
People waiting to leave the airshow talked of their utter shock at the unexpected scene.

Shoreham Air Show said on Twitter that there had been a “major incident” and that emergency services were responding, Reuters reported.
It is the second tragic incident at the Shoreham Airshow in recent years.
It arrived at North Weald from St Athan in South Wales in July 2012 and Mr Peacock and his wife flew as passengers in the Hunter with ex-RAF pilot Chris Heames as recently as February. It is not known whether the pilot was able to eject.

Shoreham Airshow organizers said the Sunday session of the show has been canceled following the accident.
