Liverpool misfit Mario Balotelli is reportedly on the verge of sealing a return to AC Milan on a season-long loan agreement.

The Mail on Sunday are reporting that Balotelli flew to Verona from Manchester airport on Saturday Morning to meet up with Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic and his assistant Nenad Sakic in Prato, near Florence, where Milan take on Fiorentina this afternoon.

“I’m not going to comment, but like (Italian singer) Antonello Venditti once said, there are certain loves which go such a long way and then they come back”, he said. Outside of European competition after their poor season, the Rossoneri aren’t generating the kind of money that they’re used to and could very well struggle to pay Balotelli’s wages. He made 43 Serie A appearances for the Milanese club, scoring 26 goals.
